It is all fake and nasty things. It is all about racism. I think the writer of this article is either Indian or Iranian. That's why he/she is trying to give all the credits to India or Iran. Afghan people were brave and are brave. They always defeated their country by losing their lives, family members, properties and homes. Assailants such as Persians, Macedonians, Arabs, Turks, Mongols, British, and Russians were forced by Afghans to run away. Not Really, the British occupied Afghanistan 3 seperate times but they couldnt keep a hold on it. Colonization is not occupation, Colonization is a whole different ball game. Colonization occurs when the people submit to the will of the occupiers. There is no British symbol left in Afghanistan. They did not build any railroad systmens like they did in India and Pakistan, Afghanistan does not have a British form of government like they have in India and Pakistan. They do not have English as the national Language like Pakistan and India. When the British left Afghanistan on 3 seperate times, they were forced out with no negotiation. The Afghans are known to be fiercely against occupation and at the same time to be the most hospitable people int he world. It is rooted in their culture. Historians have only stated that the only people that conquered Afghanistan were the Mecedonians. Alexander the Greats symbols are still visible after 2000 years later. Kandahar is named after him. Can you name a city that was named after a British officer or any other symbol that is visible in the country.

The author like many, claiming to be very intelligent but as a PAKHTOON there is no good news for being united in one part for both sides,because we have to many opponents & this step will prove for us as a "12 bore shot on the group of ducks".We are not divided only fact is that we have 2 homes across the Durand line & our biggest enemy is the ANP mind set about the pakhtonkhwa & they are the one who harm us the most,so that the FATA people will start to support them.Sindhi wants sindhu desh ,Punjab wants superiority,Balooch wants independent Baluchistan & MQM wants JINAH POOR,Northern alliance wants to wipe Pakhtoons & have KABUL THRONE. BUT We want nothing back from any of them but to give respect to our blood brothers from other side of the virtual line & to tie with us in the more strongest tie of Islam,& to look upon us as brothers in Islam,this relation which is thousand times stronger than any blood relation.
& for this war of lies the time will soon prove it self that who was more loyal to Pakistan,Army generals or we? &time will witness the truth also in the case between the northern alliance & Taliban.

ARE WE LOOSING SELF RESPECT?;
The appeal to MR Friedman seems really embarassing to this self respecting muslim with highest respect for his ancester's hinduism,a philosphy/way of life;reading Doniger's book i felt better informed( see my review on amazon);It does tell you of miraculous births of herose of both epics;But doniger is just a translater; The real question is our anger;Are we angry at something we intend to hide? Are our myth and biblical creation myth real history ? Are Adam/eve,Moses,david etc
historical ? Does explicit sex does not exist in other myths? The answer to last
is YES ? And we dont care care to know as well;Most of us are ignorant and dont want to read too. for the other questions the answer in NO;MYTHS are myths,allegorical stories to teach/learn
moral lessons; So if someone claims that
judeo-christian myths are real and hindu
ones are fiction; HE IS a BIGOT; all myth are respectful but as myth; WE must
know that history is now based on "out of africa" and mideast farmers as the basic fundamentals;AND the Aryan-semitic
Racism/biblical creationism etc were fictions British used in India's plunder.THIS was purely a PRIESTLY FRAUD
that still drives the "judeo-christian-islamic "fundamentalism";BUT a LIE is A lie.HOW could be the world be only 6000 yrs old (bible) or 3 plus million yrs/4 yugs-old( hindu myth)?;We need to grow up to read other myth critically as well
as our own;Believe only what makes sense;
AND respect critical analysis of our myth by others;Faith is Faith and between you and your GOD;COLECTIVE politics defending your myth against other's is " BIND LEADIND BLIND".
Some of these issues i have debated in my own book " urdu/hindi an artificial divide, african heritage--";
I discredit Sanskrit as a hindu language or Arabic an Islamic;It is based on Evolution rather than CREATIONISM OF ARYANS/SEMITES from NOAH.
Sorry for the comments; i have noticed
a certain anxiety/helplessness in your
pleadings to MR FRIEDMAN as an arbitrator.THE best we can do is stop complaining and follow your faith.AND try to distiguish myth from HISTORY and
this seems hard for many who still have faith in "miracles/magic/astrology";THEY
are members of all religions for their own good/salvation.

I agree with the author in that the NYT is biased and it propagates biases against Eastern religions. Its a shame that the editors are lack knowledge about Hindu philosophy, demonstrated by them giving credence to Ms.Doniger's poor quality book.We Indians need to have our own organization to defend Indian culture against idiots such as the NYT.
